I’m Josh. Welcome to my blog. I am really honoured that you’re here.
I live on a social housing estate in the North East of England, I work for a charity, and I spend a lot of time in my garden. I’ve tried to set the scene in a little more detail here.
I’m a bit of a novice to all of this, but I really hope you find something interesting, encouraging or inspiring.
A note on why I avoid pictures of myself and tend not to use my surname…
One thing that has held me back from starting a blog for some time is the fear that it becomes a tool of self-promotion. I’m sure this is not true of everyone, but I know that there is a part of me that has bought into a desire for celebrity and fame, and wants others to think I am impressive.
I worry that this whole thing could become a subtle attempt to inflate my ego.
For that reason, I’m going to mostly write under my first name. I wondered about a pseudonym but that felt a little impersonal. So I’ll mainly refer to myself as Josh, in the hope that the ambiguity is enough to put a safe distance between myself and any temptation towards branding or self-promotion.
